Pupils : We will -
- continue to be a boys’ 11-18 comprehensive school.

Curriculum : We will -
- maintain high academic results which will be consistently above the national average.
- develop and deliver a curriculum which contains academic and vocational elements to match the needs and aspirations of individual pupils.
- set by subject where appropriate and adopt mixed-ability groupings where desirable.
- place the curriculum in a contemporary context, reflecting the current and future needs of the community, business, commerce and industry.
- optimise the use of ICT in the delivery of the curriculum.
- promote all forms of extra-curricular activity, we will encourage participation by all members of the school community in competition at local, regional and national level and we will celebrate success.
- develop diversity in the Sixth Form and increase participation post-16.
Staff : We will
- provide a caring and supportive environment for all staff and a high standard of leadership and management.
- focus on the professional and personal development of all staff and on Investing in People and continue to be involved in the Initial Teacher Education programme.
- ensure that the school is fully staffed with professional and effective teachers.
Facilities : We will
- secure the rebuilding of the school on its present site so that the building is of a high standard and well matched to the school’s curricular needs.
- achieve an ordered and well-maintained environment conducive to learning.
- develop a culture of environmental awareness and concern among the whole school community
Finance : We will
- increase our income from non-pupil related sources.
- secure best value for money.
Governors : We will
- be well informed in matters of whole school interest and will maintain close links with curriculum areas.
- support the strategic development of the school.
- ensure that each individual governor is well trained and capable of discharging the role of the school’s “critical friend” in evaluating policies.
- harness the expertise and enthusiasm of individual governors for the benefit of the pupils on roll.
- be active in participation in school life and in the further development of the school.
