What happens after you apply?
For students joining Desborough College in Year 7, once your place has been confirmed via your local authority, we will invite your child to an Induction Day, usually held in early July. The date will align with the induction arrangements of other schools across the borough, helping to ensure a smooth and coordinated transition to secondary school. Later that afternoon, parents and carers will be invited to join us for an information session, where we will share everything you need to know to help your child make a confident and successful start to Year 7. This will include information about school routines, uniform, House allocations and the support available to students as they begin their Desborough journey.
For students joining us as in-year starters, once the initial application form has been completed (LINK TO APPLICATION FORM PAGE), a member of our Admissions Team will be in contact with you to arrange a tour of the College with a member of our Pastoral Leadership Team. This provides an opportunity for your family to see the school, meet key members of staff, and ask any questions you may have before your child joins us.
We also have an Open Evening and a number of Open Mornings during the autumn term each academic year. Please see the Open Events page for more information.
