Applying for a Place

at Desborough College
Why Choose Us?  |  Applying for a Place  |   After Your Application   |   Open Events
All parents who are interested in applying to the school need to name it on the application form they can obtain from the Local Authority where they live. This document is referred to as the Common Application Form and is issued to your child in September. Please take advice from the staff in your Local Authority as the system of admission is complex. The national deadline to complete and send this form for a place in September 2027 in 31t October 2026.

The admissions limit for Year 7 in September 2027 is 180. If Desborough College is over-subscribed, the over-subscription criteria set out in our admissions policy will be applied.

It is important that no application forms for a September 2027 start are returned to Desborough College. They need to be returned to the Local Authority where you reside.
Any families requiring additional general information about the secondary school admissions process should contact their Local Authority.

Sixth Form Admissions for September 2027

To apply for a place in our sixth form to begin Year 12 from September 2027, please visit the sixth form section of our website. This will provide you with further information about our sixth form and has a link for our application form.

In-Year Transfers and Applications

If you wish to apply for a place at Desborough College outside the Common Application Form period, for example, as an in-year transfer from another school, you must complete the in-year transfer form (LINK TO FORM HERE). In-year transfers are monitored during term time. Once you have completed the in-year form, you will be contacted by a member of the admissions team, which is led by our Admissions Officer, Ms Caroline Taylor.

If you have any questions about in-year admissions, you may contact us by email: [email protected]
