At Desborough College, Dream means having the ambition to imagine what is possible and the confidence to make a difference. We want every young person to understand that leadership is not simply a position of authority; it is the willingness to step forward, take responsibility and leave things better than you found them. Our Prefects are ambassadors for the College, representing our values and setting an example through their conduct, character and commitment. We encourage all students to find opportunities to lead, contribute and shape our community. Through initiatives such as the Pioneer Parliament, students have a genuine voice in College and Trust life, developing the confidence to share ideas, challenge convention and shape the future. Whether speaking for their peers, developing ideas, or leading a project, students are encouraged to be pioneering, push boundaries and express themselves. We believe leadership begins with a dream: the belief that something can be better, and that you can help make it so.

Student Leadership:
Making a Difference

Picture
Our students are encouraged to turn their dreams into purposeful action, making a positive difference within Desborough College and the wider community. Groups of students take part in projects ranging from interior design and developing our environment to community service and sustainability. Students help with recycling and litter picking, taking pride in their surroundings and contributing to their communities. Others organise fundraising projects for charity, learning that even small acts of generosity can have a lasting impact. These experiences develop leadership skills while fostering connection, responsibility, creativity, resilience and a commitment to serving others.
