At Desborough College, we believe that the strongest outcomes for young people are achieved when school and home work together. Our mission, Dream and Endeavour, is about every young person being ambitious, making a positive difference and striving to achieve their goals. Through a strong and open partnership, we can support students to develop positive habits, take responsibility for their learning and behaviour, and overcome challenges. From encouraging good attendance and punctuality to ensuring students arrive in the correct uniform with the equipment they need, the support of families helps create the foundations from which young people can thrive.

We seek to build this partnership through regular communication, shared responsibility, and meaningful opportunities for families to engage with school life. Families support learning through tasks set for completion at home and during holidays, while My Child at School (MCAS), our online portal for sharing information with families, provides an important way to celebrate students' progress and achievements.

We welcome families to celebration events and meetings where we can work together to support students who may be experiencing academic or social challenges. Just as importantly, we value the views and experiences of our families and maintain an open dialogue so that their perspectives help inform our strategic planning and the continued development of the College. This is through our welcome and open events, parents and carers evenings, and through a series of parent forums and 1:1 clinics with members of the Senior Leadership Team. By working together, we can ensure that every student is supported, encouraged, and challenged to Dream and Endeavour, with the confidence to pursue their ambitions and make a positive contribution to the world around them.
